Combustion safety testing: what we learn from standards and research

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

During this session, Dan will compare and contrast the prevalent (worst case) depressurization and related combustion appliance testing protocols as defined in Building Performance Institute and RESNET standards. Results of water heater spillage monitoring conducted by Seventhwave in Minnesota and Wisconsin homes as part of a Building America project will also be presented. This close look at standards and as-is monitoring will help participants identify which factors contribute most to failures, both when testing susceptible homes and in real world operation.
